With the arrival of the month of Adar, Mishenichnas Adar Marbim B’simcha, our joy begins to increase, for Adar is the month in which Purim falls. Well, the community of CSS is going to experience a massive influx of joy this Purim! Have you heard? Two musical events are planned for our Purim reveling.
On Friday Evening, March 10th at 7:00pm, the program of Purim selections titled, “Oh Today We’ll Merry Merry Be!” will be offered by our House Band and me. It includes a smattering of classic Purim music, old and new, as well as Purim music from other traditions, including the Sephardic tradition. Purim starts the next eve, Saturday night, so this Friday night program will jumpstart us into the Purim spirit for fun and merry making!
Saturday evening, March 11th at 7:00pm, will be our Purim Player’s presentation of our Purim Spiel, “Saturday Night Fever- The Disco Megillah.” What were you doing in the 70s? Some folk tell me they still have some outfits from then, others are not just digging into the backs of their wardrobes for costumes but scouring the thrift shops for funky disco threads for that DYNOMITE look for Purim. Sequined shirts or dresses? Leisure- suits? Padded shoulders….wide lapels? Oy!!! Be there as CSS will be transformed into Studio 54, I mean, Studio 3x Chai!
Mishenichnas Adar Marbim B’simcha B’Shalom!
