Incoming Board Candidates - Bios

Bruce Corris

I´m a second-generation temple member who´s been hanging around this place, off and on, for more than 50 years. Ive been Vice President of Membership nearly a year and a half, and have also served on the board, been co-president of the Men´s Group, and a member of the Finance, Communications, Annual Giving, and Susan Wehle memorial committees. I´m also proud to have been part of the temple´s involvement with Walk Off Hunger for the Food Bank from the very beginning. Many of you know me as the guy who does all the cook-offs.

Rella Corris

Became a member of Temple Beth Am in 1961. Moved to Florida in 1986 then California in 2001 and back to Buffalo and Temple Beth Am in 2005. Have served on the Temple Board and Treasurer of Sisterhood. Attend Friday night services on a regular basis. Am an active member of the R & L, Membership, Prayer Book and 2020 Committees. While away from Buffalo was active in other Congregations. I feel it is very important to support Congregation Shir Shalom in any way I can.

Joe Glickman

I Joe Glickman, have been a member of CSS since inception and a member previously of Temple Beth Am for 53 years. I have worked on the merger committee, previous boards and specifically have been the VP of Finance. My goal is to keep CSS fiscally stable maximizing the talents and resources of members, staff and affiliations. This will prove to enhance each and every members experiences at CSS. I have two grown children Steven 26, and Andy 22, both raised and educated in this Synagogue. We live in the town of Tonawanda. My parents Marshall and Marlene, have been members also since 1961.

Heidi A. Milch

Heidi A. Milch has been a member of CSS for four years and has two children in the religious school (grades 4 and 6). She is very active with the Parent Council and volunteers at Temple Bingo regularly. She is the founding Executive Director of a local non-profit organization and has more than 15 years of non-profit experience in the areas of program development and implementation, administration and management, performance measurement, continuous quality improvement, community collaborations and direct clinical practice experience (social work). She chooses to spend her free time hiking, cooking and spending time with her kids, husband, extended family and friends.

Larry Posses

My name is Laurence Posses and I became a member of Temple Beth Am after relocating to the Buffalo area with my family back in 2008. I have previously served as a member of the Education Committee within Temple Beth Am and I am a current member of the Finance Committee within Congregation Shir Shalom. I have been employed in the Buffalo area for the last 6+ years at HSBC. I am a Vice President within the Finance division responsible for software testing of global banking and financial systems. My leisure interests include spending time with my family, travel, cycling and participating in the Boy Scouts of America. I am very thankful for being nominated as a candidate to join the Board and will work hard for our Congregation to ensure our continued stability as well as ensuring our future growth in our community.

Mindy P. Weinman

We joined Temple Beth Am in 1984 after the birth of our first daughter. I became a Bat Mitzvah in 1987 and shortly after that joined the Temple Board. Our daughters, Amy & Sara attended Religious School and also became Bat Mitzvah at TBA. I served as VP of Worship and was President of Temple Beth Am from 2000-2002. By day I am a Dentist in private practice with my husband David, at our office in the Allentown area of Buffalo and have a satellite office at the Weinberg Campus Nursing Home. I am also an Assistant Professor in Restorative Dentistry at the UB School of Dental Medicine. It is an honor to be nominated for the Board of Trustees of Congregation Shir Shalom.
