We are sorry to inform you that David A.Symon has passed away. Our condolences go out to Peter and his entire family.
SYMON – David A.: 58, of Clinton, formerly of Buffalo, passed away Sunday following a long illness, husband of Kim Landon; father of Julie Crossman and Kate Silverstrim; grand-father of Isabelle Crossman; brother of Peter (Barbara) Simon of Williamsville and Harry (Nancy) Simon of Eunice, LA; uncle of Becky (Christopher Agee) Simon of Denver and Jessica (Brendan) Murphy of Williamsville; great-uncle and special buddy of Eleanor Murphy; son of the late Joseph and Sylvia Simon.
David retired in 2008 after 24 years as a state corrections officer at SingSing and Oneida Correctional Facilities. Previously part owner of Simon Auto Parts in the Town of Tonawanda.
A sports fan, animal lover and spirited runner, David completed five 10-mile Boilermaker Runs in Utica and finished a half marathon in a blizzard in Columbus, OH. David volunteered at Stanley Performing Arts Center in Utica and was a member of the Knights of Pythias and the Toastmasters Club.
SERVICES: Memorial service 11 AM Wednesday at Utica College Library Concourse.
SHIVA: There is no planned shiva at this time.
MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made to the Stanley Performing Arts Center in Utica or an animal rescue organization of your choice.
