Torah Thoughts – Bo (Exodus.10.1-13.16) – “The Time Has Come to Bill-ieve”

Exodus.10.1-13.16

“Come,” God calls at the beginning of this week’s Torah portion, Bo. While freedom is still several plagues away, the tide has turned. Despite uncertainty, the next steps feel inevitable. We have arrived at the edge of the Sea, for the first time in a very long time, the Promised Land is within reach.

We, here in Buffalo, understand how optimism can overcome even the most skeptical among us. Just a few years ago, people looked at Buffalo like it was the North Pole. Now our city, our football team, have emerged from their cocoon ready to conquer the world. Bill-ieving is not just about winning the Super Bowl, it is a feeling that anything and everything is possible. No matter what happens on Sunday we will come away winners.

Shabbat Shalom,
Rabbi Alex
