Jeanette attended the prestigious Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester and later earned an MA in Music Education from the University at Buffalo. ELLIS, Virginia Ann (nee Amram), Of Town of Tonawanda, NY; beloved wife of the late Maxwell E. Ellis; sister of the late Barbara Hayman; loving mother of Pamela (James) Meltzer, Richard A. Ellis and James H. (late Catherine) Ellis; grandmother of Richard A Ellis, Jr., Elizabeth A. (Joseph) Barbato and the late Benjamin James Ellis; step grandmother of Sarah (Austin) Littenberg; aunt of Mark Hayman (Mark Penny); also survived by many relatives and friends. Known as “Miss Virginia,” Ginny worked until the age of 85 as a retail manager at Goodwill Industries of WNY. She also worked at Retap Thrift Store, as well as LL Bergers during her teen years and again later in life until the store closed in the 1980s. Virginia graduated from Buffalo Seminary in 1952 and went to Syracuse University where she was named Winter Carnival Queen. She graduated from Medaille College in 1988 with an Associate’s degree in Science. Virginia loved her grandchildren, chocolate, gardening, walks through her neighborhood, knitting, her golden retrievers, saying “we’ll see” and Ginny slices. She radiated with immense pride whenever she spoke of her children, Sarah and Benjamin. She loved cozy evenings at home with her husband, Jim, and their beloved dogs, staying up late to laugh until she cried and giving the absolute best hugs.

RUDERMAN, Jan Ellen It is with great sadness that we inform you that Jan Ellen Ruderman has passed away.

A beautiful legacy of love and compassion has been left to us in the passing of Jan Ellen ( Lederman ) Ruderman. She is predeceased by her father Dr. Alfred Lederman. She is survived by her mother Geraldine Silver Lederman , her brother Rob Lederman ( Kathi ), as well as her loving husband of 41 years, Tom Ruderman and her cherished children and grandchildren.
Although she achieved great success as V.P. of Hartford Urology Institute, Jan was best known for her love, compassion and kindness. She was a graduate of Amherst High School as well as Tufts University.
A private service will be held Thursday January 4th at 2pm at Congregation Shir Shalom- 4660 Sheridan Drive, to be followed by visitation for friends and family from 3-5pm at CSS.
