Let Me Introduce Myself

I can’t even begin to express how happy I am to be here at CSS. I am writing
this article just after my first Friday evening service as I prepare to
co-lead my second service. Everything right now is new and thrilling.
I am absolutely swept up in a flurry of activities, all new and yes,
thrilling for me!  The simple things, that I am sure everyone takes for
granted, are quite remarkable right now.

I’ve met many of you during the Transition in Song concert in early June,
our Kick-off Summer BBQ Service on July 1st, through various committee
meetings and through many informal gatherings. There have been
so many friendly faces and new names to remember! Many of us have shared
conversations and I really do appreciate the warm welcome I have received
from so many. Thank you! If we haven’t had the chance to
converse, shake hands and get to know each other, please walk right up to
me and introduce yourself.

My husband is Michael Frank. If you haven’t met him yet, you will see him on
Friday evenings with me throughout the summer and around the neighborhood,
as we have just purchased a house close to CSS. He
enjoys accompanying me at services on guitar and percussion. I have three
daughters; April, Rebecca and Sandra. April works in midtown, NYC, as a
Project Manager/Account Services Manager for a Pharmaceutical
Marketing firm. She is 27.  Rebecca, who is 25, is in the second year of a
doctorate program at ATS University in Arizona for Audiology. Sandra is 18
and will be attending the PharmD program (Pharmacy) at University
of Buffalo as an incoming freshman this September. Hopefully, sometime in
the near future, there will be a Shabbat Eve where I will have my family
together to meet everyone.

Mike and I are very happy to be here and we look forward to many meaningful
services and events at Shir Shalom. I look forward to sharing time with all
the members of our Temple community.

B’Shalom,
Cantor Arlene Frank
