Temple President’s Message Regarding Covid-19 – Update

Dear Fellow Congregants,

As you’ve probably heard, effective today New York State is allowing houses of worship to begin holding services for up to 10 people, and also hold drive-in services.

I know many of you are eager to get back together, in whatever way possible and as soon as possible. And we have been planning for many different contingencies when it comes to reopening. But as you know, your safety, along with that of our clergy and staff, is our top priority. It is still not prudent for us to hold in-person services in the building. We are looking into ways we can hold a drive-in service, but there are many technical and logistical challenges. The last thing we want is to do something that doesn’t provide you with as good an experience as possible.

We will continue to keep you updated, and as soon as we can take additional steps, we will let you know. In the meantime, I look forward to speaking with you during our live streamed Erev Shabbat Service tomorrow night.

As always, thank you for your understanding and your support, and for being part of our Congregation Shir Shalom family.

Best wishes,

Bruce Corris
CSS President
